1.1. Navigate to the search bar located in the top RHS of your site
The search bar can found on all pages within your intranet site
1.2. Start typing in the ‘Search’ box
Place your cursor in the ‘Search’ text box to see the type ahead function start to reveal options
ie
1.3. See results start to populate for:
• Sites – Returns results related to subsites
• Documents – Returns results related to documents within the intranet site
• Contacts – Returns results related to contacts in your central directory
1.4. Click on the search result to navigate directly to the source item
By default the type ahead search will search through ‘Everything’, click on the drop down ‘Everything’ next to the search box to narrow your search down by Contacts, Sites and Documents
Ie Sites will only return results related to a subsite
If you wish to narrow your search down further, click ‘enter’ or click on the magnify glass to take you to the ‘Search’ site
Here you can narrow down your search by a number of user defined search scopes as well as Result Type, Author and Modified Date
