Release 2.7.0 includes building on the People Hub launched in October 2018 and helping teams prepare for changes being introduced by Microsoft in April 2019.
In this release:
- Design changes to prepare for SharePoint modern
- People Hub enhancements
- Performance improvements
SharePoint modern
Microsoft has been gradually introducing SharePoint modern since 2016 and many SharePoint customers now operate in a mixture of modern and classic modes.
To help blur the lines and create a more user-friendly experience, Sproket v2.7 includes:
- An updated navigation style so teams using SharePoint modern web parts and Sproket can move seamlessly between the modern and classic experiences with minimal visual change
- A modified grey bar, now containing Sproket-specific controls such as weather and your shortcuts to Apps and Favourites.

People Hub enhancements
Your feedback has helped us introduce some key changes to the People Hub, expanding the functionality that helps staff find colleagues and their contact details.
In the Directory tab:
- Filters can be applied to display people based on their department, office location or title using pre-set categories (known as faceted search).
- An 'export to CSV' option makes it easy to analyse or share details or extract emails for a distribution list.
- Columns can be configured so only the most useful are displayed.
In the Org chart tab:
- A new search bar lets you search for names and has auto-complete functionality so you can jump straight to the entry you need.
Performance improvements
If you upgraded to version 2.6.0 you'll be enjoying Sproket's faster performance. This month we've made further changes to improve the speed of the navigation bar, as part of our work to blur the lines between SharePoint classic and modern.
